Projects
New Northern Pedagogies: Conversations Across the Arctic (Scottish Government Arctic Connections Fund, 9/2022-3/2023) project provided opportunities for HEI-based teacher educators from UArctic, The Nordic Educational Research Association (NERA) and the digital, open access peer review journal Education in the North (EitN) to explore Arctic Pedagogy within teacher education across various cultures, communities, and curricula.
New Northern Pedagogies: exploring Arctic Pedagogy for ITE project (The Royal Society of Edinburgh, 9/2023-10/2025) enhances UK and Scottish Arctic Policy connections with education and impacts the work of teacher educators by challenging neoliberal, economically deterministic teacher education. Arctic Pedagogy centres on sustainable, ecological, familial and community approaches, cultural understanding, and digitalisation; thus, the project's impact, via online, free-to-use publications, will provide significant challenge for teacher educators.
